Remote Learning

At Newnham St Peter’s, we are committed to ensuring that all children continue to learn, grow, and flourish, even when they are learning from home. Whether your child is learning remotely due to illness, isolation, or wider school closure, we aim to provide a consistent and supportive learning experience.

Our Remote Learning Offer

We use Seesaw as our main platform for remote learning. Through Seesaw, pupils can:

  • Access daily lessons and resources in line with the class curriculum

  • Upload completed work for feedback from teachers

  • Watch recorded or live teaching sessions (where applicable)

  • Stay connected with their teacher and peers

We also provide a weekly timetable and clear expectations for each day to help structure learning at home.

What You Can Expect

For children working from home, we provide:

  • A broad and balanced curriculum that mirrors in-school learning as closely as possible

  • Daily English and maths lessons, plus phonics or reading for younger pupils

  • A range of foundation subject tasks (e.g. Science, History, RE, art)

  • Regular feedback to encourage and support progress

  • Opportunities for prayer, reflection, and maintaining connection with our Christian vision

Support for Pupils and Families

We understand that home learning can be challenging for families. We aim to make remote learning:

  • Accessible – Tasks are adapted to suit different needs and age groups

  • Flexible – We understand families have different routines and devices

  • Supportive – Staff are available via Seesaw to answer questions and offer encouragement

If you need printed materials, extra support, or a loan of a device, please contact the school office. We are here to help.

Online Safety Reminder

When learning online, it’s important to keep children safe. Please visit our Online Safety page for tips and resources to help you support safe and sensible screen time at home.
