Key Stage 2 (Year 6) SATs — 2023–24 Results

Based on official data from the GOV.UK Compare School Performance site for Newnham St  Peter’s, our 2023–24 Key Stage 2 results are:

 

  • Combined (Reading, Writing & Maths): Above national average of 61%

  • Reading Expected Standard: Exceeded 74% (national)

  • Writing Expected Standard: Above 72% (national)

  • Maths Expected Standard: Surpassed 73% (national)

  • Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling (GPS): Also above national standard

Phonics Screening Check — Year 1

Nationally, around 75–80% of pupils meet the expected standard in the Year 1 phonics check. At Newnham St Peter’s, our phonics programme—using Read Write Inc.—ensures pupils are well-prepared and consistently reach or exceed this benchmark, reinforcing strong early foundations in reading.
