Let's Go Zero 2030

Our Carbon Action Plan: Towards Net Zero by 2030

We believe that education isn’t just about preparing students for the future—it’s about protecting that future too. That’s why we’re proud to be part of the Let’s Go Zero 2030 campaign, a nationwide movement uniting schools in the mission to become carbon zero by the year 2030.

What Is the Carbon Action Plan?

Our Carbon Action Plan is a strategic roadmap that outlines how we will reduce our carbon footprint across all areas of school life. From energy use and transport to food, waste, and biodiversity, we’re taking bold steps to make our school more sustainable, resilient, and environmentally responsible.

Key focus areas include:

  • Energy Efficiency: Upgrading lighting, heating, and insulation to reduce energy consumption.

  • Sustainable Travel: Promoting walking, cycling, and low-emission transport options for students and staff.

  • Waste Reduction: Minimising single-use plastics and improving recycling across the school.

  • Eco-Friendly Food: Supporting plant-based meals and sourcing food locally where possible.

  • Nature & Biodiversity: Creating green spaces, planting trees, and encouraging wildlife on school grounds.

Why It Matters

Climate change is the defining challenge of our time. By committing to net zero, we’re not only reducing our environmental impact—we’re empowering our students to become climate-conscious citizens and change-makers. This plan is a living document, shaped by student voices, staff ideas, and community collaboration.
